What are the system requirement to use soEditor?

Does soEditor work in Netscape or Firefox?
Currently soEditor does not work in Netscape or Firefox browsers. soEditor currently relies on functionality that is built into Internet Explorer to work. However a new version is under development that will work in Netscape and Firefox browsers. Watch our web site for more information regarding the new release.

Does soEditor work in Internet Explorer on a Mac?
Unfortunately soEditor does not work in the Mac version of Internet Explorer.  A way around this is to purchase a copy of Virtual PC for the Mac which would enable it to run the Windows version of Internet Explorer.

What are the differences between soEditor Lite and soEditor Pro?
There are several differences between the lite and pro versions of soEditor.  A good place to start is our feature comparison page.

How do I integrate soEditor into my application?
Integrating soEditor into your application is quite simple.  We've put together several ColdFusion, .Net and ASP online demos and code samples available in our documentation center.

How do I upgrade from soEditor Lite to soEditor Pro?
If you have purchased a copy of soEditor and would like to upgrade to another version the process is very simple.  Login with your username and password and then go to My Downloads in the Members area.  Once there you will see a list of the products you have purchased.  Click the upgrade link to begin the upgrade process.  The cost to upgrade will be the price difference between the two versions.

If I purchase soEditor what upgrades will I receive in the future and for how long?
All soEditor 2.5 purchasers receive free (release) upgrades for the first year after purchase.  Note: with our next release, Version 3.0, we will be implementing an annual subscription fee model for clients wanting to continue receiving new release upgrades.  We will continue to provide FREE maintenance upgrades for the most current product release.

Do you offer discounts to non-profit organizations?
We do offer 25% discounts to qualifying non-profit organizations.  If you would like to receive this discount, send your request including your siteobjects.com username to products@siteobjects.com with the phrase "Non-profit Discount" in the subject line.  If you do not have a username, you can create a new account here.  We will notify you when your account has been enabled to receive the discount.

How can I pay with a purchase order?
During the checkout process choose invoice as your payment method and then enter your purchase order number.  A copy of the purchase order can also be faxed to us at (517) 324-4267.

How do I receive soEditor after purchasing?
Purchasing by credit card enables you to immediately download the software after purchase.  If you request to be invoiced, you will be able to download the software once we receive payment.  We do not ship a boxed product, the software is only available by downloading.

Can I modify the source code in soEditor?
You are free to modify the source code in all open source versions of soEditor.  Be aware that all copyright and trademark notices must remain intact and that modified versions cannot be resold or distributed without acquiring a redistributable license from us.  We also do not support modified source code.  See the pricing and licensing page for further details on open source versions of soEditor.

What is involved in licensing soEditor for use in my own commercial application?
In order to use soEditor in your commercial application you will need to purchase a distribution license in addition to your current license for each commercial product that you plan to use soEditor.  This license can be purchased during the regular checkout process.  If you have already purchased soEditor and want to add a distribution license, simply send an email to products@siteobjects.com, and let us know.  For further details and pricing information see the pricing and licensing page.

I would like to rebrand soEditor with my company name and logo, is this possible?

How do I suggest new features?
We love to hear new ideas, in fact a great number of the features in the current version were originally requested by our customers.  Fill out our suggest a feature form anytime you have an idea for soEditor.  We can't guarantee anything, but if it's a good idea we will certainly pursue it.

Can I download a trial version of soEditor Pro?
We currently do not offer a trial version of soEditor Pro, but may do so in the future.  For now you can view online demos of soEditor Pro on our demo page.  Feel free to send any questions you may have to us at products@siteobjects.com.
